How it works

A fixed list, a simple score

No AI and no guesswork: the checks below run on your text in the browser.

  1. 01

    Paste your email

Add the subject and the body. Merge fields like {{first_name}} are fine; they are left alone.

  2. 02

    Words are marked

Each phrase on the list is marked in red (spam) or purple (sounds like AI). When phrases overlap, the longer one counts, so "free trial" is one match, not two.

  3. 03

    The score

It starts at 100 and loses 5 per spam word (up to 50), 2 per AI word (up to 16), 4 per word in capitals (up to 16), 3 per exclamation mark after the first and 5 per link after the first.

  4. 04

    Swap in plainer words

Each match lists plainer words. Click one to replace that match in your text, then copy the email back.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Short answers about the spam word checker.

Do spam words alone send an email to spam?

Not on their own. Filters weigh many signals: your domain's authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), your sending reputation, engagement and the content. Trigger words add to the risk, and they also make a cold email read like an advert, which costs replies.

Is the word free always a problem?

Free on its own is common in normal email, but it is one of the words filters and readers react to, and phrases like free trial or 100% free read as promotional. In a first cold email, describe what is included instead.

Why are some words marked as sounding like AI?

Words such as delve, leverage, seamless or I hope this email finds you well show up so often in machine written email that readers skim past them. They are not spam triggers, but swapping them makes the email sound like you.

Is my email text stored?

No. The check runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to ZicReach or anyone else.
