Email blacklist checker

Enter a domain or an IPv4 address to check it on email blacklists (DNSBLs) and domain blocklists live, with listed, not listed or could not check for each list and the link to request removal.

Looked up live

IP blacklists
13 DNSBLs per address
Domain blocklists
5 for the domain

Lookups go from your browser to Cloudflare's public DNS over HTTPS. Spamhaus and SURBL refuse public resolvers, so they show Could not check here.

For a domain, its website and mail server addresses are checked too. Lookups run from your browser and nothing is stored.

How it works

Every list, with an honest answer

Check your sending domain and mail servers before a campaign, and again when replies or opens drop suddenly.

  1. 01

    Find the addresses

For a domain, your browser looks up its A records and the addresses of its MX servers, up to 10 public IPv4 addresses.

  2. 02

    Ask every list

Each address is looked up on the IP blacklists and the domain on the domain blocklists, through Cloudflare's public DNS over HTTPS.

  3. 03

    No false clean results

Each list is first asked for its own test entry. A list that refuses or does not answer shows Could not check, never Not listed.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Short answers about the email blacklist checker.

What is an email blacklist?

A list of IP addresses or domains seen sending spam, published in DNS (a DNSBL). Mail servers look up the sender's address and domain on the lists they trust and reject or filter mail that is listed.

Why does Spamhaus show Could not check?

Spamhaus refuses lookups that come through public DNS resolvers such as Cloudflare's, and this tool runs in your browser through one. SURBL does not answer them either. Check those lists on their own websites with the links shown.

Which addresses are checked for a domain?

The domain's own A records (its website) and the addresses of its MX servers, up to 10 public IPv4 addresses. The servers that send your mail, such as Google Workspace or your SMTP provider, are best checked by entering their IP address.

My domain is listed. What do I do?

Find the cause first: a hacked mailbox, a bought list, high bounces or too much volume from a new domain. Fix it, then use the removal link for each list. Many lists also drop entries on their own once the spam stops.

Does a listing always hurt delivery?

Not always. Receivers use different lists. Spamhaus, Barracuda and SpamCop are widely used and matter most; smaller lists have less effect. Any listing is worth fixing at the cause.

Is what I enter stored?

No. The lookups go from your browser straight to Cloudflare's public DNS resolver. ZicReach does not see or keep the domain or address.
